Phinia raises 2026 guidance, cites six global business awards
Phinia reported $912 million in Q3 net sales, $135 million adjusted EBITDA and a 104% adjusted free-cash-flow capital return ratio, while adding methanol, CNG and GDI awards.
Scope of change
- Q3 2026 net sales rose 0.4% to $912 million and were flat excluding foreign currency.
- Net earnings reached $67 million, or $1.80 per diluted share.
- Adjusted EBITDA rose $2 million to $135 million, with margin reaching 14.8%.
- Phinia returned $76 million to shareholders, equal to 104% of adjusted free cash flow.
- Phinia raised fiscal 2026 guidance and secured methanol, CNG, GDI and aftermarket business awards.

Phinia posted $912 million in net sales for the quarter ended Sept. 30, 2026, up 0.4% from a year earlier. Excluding the impact of foreign currency, sales were flat year over year, leaving the underlying sales comparison unchanged.
Net earnings were $67 million, or $1.80 per diluted share. Adjusted net earnings reached $68 million, or $1.83 per adjusted diluted share, up from $1.59 a year earlier. Adjusted EBITDA, a measure of earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization, increased $2 million to $135 million. Its margin reached 14.8%, 20 basis points above the prior year.
Brady Ericson, Phinia’s president and chief executive officer, said: “Our third quarter results were consistent with our expectations and reflect stable end market demand, continued aftermarket momentum, and strong financial discipline.”
Ericson said higher research-and-development spending and investment in customer relationships did not prevent another quarter of profitable growth. He said business momentum continued into the third quarter, with new awards focused on targeted growth markets and emerging-growth industries. He argued that the results demonstrated consistent execution and supported his claim that the company’s strategy was working.
Ericson also said: “Importantly, we returned $76 million of capital to shareholders during the quarter, which represents 104% of adjusted free cash flow, and we remain committed to our balanced capital allocation strategy, which is focused on investments for growth, strategic acquisitions, and capital returns.”
Management said Phinia was building a diversified growth business through product leadership, expansion into growth markets, product innovation and disciplined financial execution.
What does the guidance update change for Phinia?
The practical change is a modestly higher fiscal 2026 outlook and a wider set of commercial programs. It does not amount to a disclosed production-volume or capacity increase. Phinia raised its full-year guidance slightly, without quantifying the revision in the accompanying results text.
Phinia presented each new item as a secured business award. The disclosures do not name original-equipment manufacturers (OEMs), launch dates, annual unit volumes or plant capacity. Until production begins and shipments follow, the wins represent commercial awards rather than confirmed output.
Phinia said it secured several new business awards and expanded its global distribution reach. It listed six:
- China: A first methanol engine program extends Phinia’s technology into alternative fuels and industrial off-highway applications.
- India: A new compressed natural gas (CNG) injector program targets the light passenger vehicle market, strengthening the company’s position across fuels, applications and regions.
- North America: A gasoline direct-injection (GDI) pump award covers a new range-extender application, keeping Phinia’s technology relevant to evolving powertrain architectures.
- North America: A customer win in fuel-injector remanufacturing expands the company’s diesel customer base.
- Spain and Southeast Asia: Phinia won competitive-conquest aftermarket braking business in Spain and expanded regional distribution, including greater penetration of steering and suspension products.
- Saudi Arabia, Portugal and Spain: New business covers diesel, vehicle electronics and engine-management systems (EMS), increasing customer and product penetration.
Taken together, the awards give Phinia exposure to methanol, CNG, range extenders and additional aftermarket categories across China, India, North America, Europe and Southeast Asia. Phinia described the activity as strong award momentum in emerging industries and targeted growth markets; it has not supplied the production timing or volumes needed to test that momentum against output.
The next checkpoints are the revised numerical guidance, launch dates and production volumes for the methanol, CNG and GDI awards, any capacity commitment, and any acquisition or additional capital-return decision. Until those details emerge, shipment conversion and cash deployment are the measures that matter next.
