FedEx orders 2,000 electric medium-duty trucks from Harbinger
FedEx has ordered 2,000 all-electric medium-duty trucks from Harbinger in a deal worth over $300 million — the largest order in the startup's history.
Scope of change
- FedEx ordered 2,000 all-electric medium-duty delivery trucks from Harbinger
- The order is worth over $300 million, implying an average price above $150,000 per unit
- The deal is the largest in Harbinger's history and accelerates FedEx's fleet electrification

FedEx has ordered 2,000 all-electric medium-duty delivery trucks from US commercial vehicle manufacturer Harbinger, a deal worth more than $300 million. The purchase ranks as the largest order in Harbinger's history and marks a significant acceleration of FedEx's fleet electrification program.
The trucks are medium-duty delivery vehicles — the Class 4–6 segment where Harbinger positions its electric platform, and where FedEx and its contractors run high-mileage last-mile routes. At more than $300 million for 2,000 units, the order implies an average unit price above $150,000 per vehicle.
For Harbinger, the contract provides a volume anchor that few independent commercial EV startups have secured. Production plans tied specifically to this order were not disclosed in the announcement, so actual delivery timing and manufacturing ramp remain to be confirmed against Harbinger's build rates.
For FedEx, the order materially scales an electrification effort that has so far relied on smaller batches and pilot deployments across its pickup-and-delivery network. A 2,000-unit commitment moves electrification from demonstration scale toward fleet-wide procurement.
What to watch next: delivery schedules and whether Harbinger can hit its production ramp to fulfill the order, plus any further multi-thousand-unit electric truck tenders from FedEx or its rivals in US parcel logistics.
