Jaguar Type 01 to start at €165,000; Solihull output set for H2 2027
Jaguar will price the Type 01 four-door GT at €165,000 in Germany, with order books opening in early 2027 and first Solihull customer deliveries due in H2 2027. The 850V, 758 kW model debuts JEA.
Scope of change
- Starting price in Germany: €165,000; order books open early 2027
- First customer deliveries from Solihull, UK, scheduled for H2 2027
- 850V JEA platform, 118 kWh battery, three motors producing 758 kW and 1,365 Nm combined
- Claimed range up to 720 km; 350 kW fast charging adds ~320 km in 13 minutes
- Dimensions: 5,240 mm long, 1,410 mm high, 2,000 mm wide, 3,200 mm wheelbase

Jaguar will open order books for the Type 01 four-door grand tourer in early 2027 at a German starting price of €165,000, with first customer deliveries from the Solihull, UK, plant scheduled for the second half of that year. The production car is the first series model to follow the Type 00 two-door concept that opened the brand's reinvention programme, and it stays close in proportion to the show car.
The Type 01 enters a small club of six-figure luxury electric GTs that, until now, has been led by the Mercedes-Benz EQS and, more recently, the Lucid Gravity. Jaguar's pricing puts the car above the EQS in Germany and below Bentley and Rolls-Royce combustion flagships, positioning it as a halo product rather than a volume entry.
How big is the Type 01?
At 5,240 mm long, 1,410 mm high and 2,000 mm wide on a 3,200 mm wheelbase, the Type 01 carries the concept's elongated proportions into series build. The roofline sits lower than any previous Jaguar sedan, and the long wheelbase pushes the wheels to each corner. Jaguar has removed the rear window in favour of digital mirrors, integrated flush door handles, and concealed sensor and camera housings. Body surfaces are kept large and flat, with sharp creases at the shoulder line and a minimalist brightwork palette aimed at preserving surfacing quality at low volume.
What does the cabin give up for the silhouette?
The interior strips back to three primary controls:
- A 24-inch instrument display behind the steering wheel
- A vertical 7-inch touch unit on the centre console that bridges the two second-row individual seats
- Flat rocker switches on the steering wheel
Jaguar has omitted the haptic panels and stacked screen real estate common in this price band. Second-row passengers sit in individual seats separated by the continuing centre console rather than a traditional bench. The trade-off is rear visibility: with no rear glass, drivers rely on the digital mirror feed rather than a conventional mirror.
Where does the powertrain sit against the EQS and Lucid Gravity?
The Type 01 debuts the Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA) on an 850 V platform, departing from the 800 V layout used by most premium EV rivals. A 118 kWh battery feeds three electric motors producing 758 kW and 1,365 Nm combined. Under the brand's "more is more" motto, Jaguar's engineers have prioritised a larger energy reserve and higher system voltage than direct competitors in the luxury GT segment.
Jaguar claims a maximum range of about 720 km and energy consumption of 16–17 kWh per 100 km, although official WLTP figures have not been published and should be treated as pre-homologation targets. The 350 kW peak charging rate is sized to add roughly 320 km of range in 13 minutes, according to Jaguar. Only the Mercedes-Benz EQS, the upcoming Range Rover EV and the Lucid Gravity sit in the same 850 V and ~118 kWh class the Type 01 now enters.
