YFORE opened a 62,225-square-foot North American headquarters and electronics plant in Suwanee, Georgia, on Aug. 27, the Chinese Tier-1 supplier said. The site sits in Forsyth County, about 35 miles northeast of Atlanta.
The Suwanee facility combines R&D, manufacturing, procurement, sales and delivery under one roof, according to a company statement. YFORE did not disclose the dollar value of the investment, the headcount it will add, or the U.S. OEM customers it plans to serve from Georgia. No annual unit capacity was given for the SMT or digital key lines that guests toured on opening day.
What is YFORE?
YFORE describes itself as a global Tier-1 automotive electronics supplier. The company claims partnerships with more than 30 leading automotive OEMs worldwide, a figure that should be treated as a company assertion until verified against customer rosters. YFORE's product portfolio splits into three lines:
- Intelligent Mirror: interior digital mirrors, auto-dimming mirrors and exterior side mirrors, plus a new multifunctional digital mirror that combines DMS/OMS sensing with intelligent interaction. YFORE says its mirror products are in mass production on more than 60 vehicle models globally.
- Intelligent Access: a "Car-Cloud-Phone/Watch" digital key system supporting BLE, UWB and NFC across smart devices and key fobs, plus door-handle sensors and an anti-pinch system. The company says the access line is in mass production on more than 50 global models.
- Intelligent Sensing: the ODMS in-cabin full-coverage sensing system, which fuses mirror optics with radar for E-NCAP compliance, and a UWB module that supports kick sensors, low-power sentry mode and in-cabin life detection. Both made their global debut at the Suwanee event.
What did executives say?
"Becoming the trusted partner for intelligent vehicle clients is YFORE's core mission, and our Georgia facility brings that commitment to life," CEO Leo Liu said. "Driven by rising OEM demand for localized, resilient supply chains, this investment embodies our 'Global Footprint, Local Excellence' strategy. By pairing global scale with dedicated on-site teams, we deliver agile co-development and responsive delivery close to our customers."
Alex Warner, president of the Forsyth County Chamber, framed the opening in community terms: "Today is not just an opening — it's YFORE becoming part of the Forsyth County family."
Why does a Chinese Tier-1 plant in Georgia matter?
Local-for-local electronics sourcing has accelerated as Asian suppliers chase U.S. assembly programs. Hyundai's Metaplant in Bryan County and the broader Southeast EV cluster have already pulled mirror, sensor and HMI vendors into the region. YFORE's "Global Footprint, Local Excellence" pitch echoes the language used by larger Tier-1s such as LG, Magna and Continental as they re-shore electronics work to shorten shipping cycles and qualify for incentive programs.
Whether the Suwanee site will tap Inflation Reduction Act, CHIPS-adjacent or Georgia state incentives remains unconfirmed. YFORE has not announced any federal or state subsidy awards tied to the project, and the company did not respond to a question about IRA-aligned content sourcing for the SMT lines.
What to watch next
- First U.S.-built production batches. YFORE has not named a serial-production start date for the Suwanee lines, nor which vehicle programs it will supply from Georgia first.
- Customer disclosure. The company has yet to name any U.S. OEM customers served from the new plant, beyond the 30-plus global OEM figure it cites overall.
- Capacity and headcount. Annual unit volumes, line counts and staffing targets for the 62,225-square-foot site have not been announced.
- Incentive status. Any federal or Georgia state grant awards tied to the Suwanee investment.
- Phase-2 expansion. Whether the Atlanta-area footprint grows with a second building or an additional product line.
