BYD's Dynasty lineup hits 10 million as Da Han flagship readies October 13 launch

BYD's Dynasty lineup produced its 10 millionth vehicle ahead of the Da Han flagship sedan's October 13 launch at prices from 249,900 yuan. August Dynasty sales rose 13.88% year-on-year.

Scope of change

  1. BYD's Dynasty lineup produced its 10 millionth vehicle, a milestone disclosed on Weibo on Tuesday by sales chief Lu Tian.
  2. The Da Han flagship sedan launches October 13; EV pre-sales opened August 21 at the Chengdu Auto Show from 249,900 yuan to 299,900 yuan.
  3. Two Da Han EV rear-wheel-drive variants claim a CLTC range of 1,008 km; the all-wheel-drive variant is rated at 880 km.
  4. Dynasty sales rose 13.88% year-on-year in August to 170,842 vehicles — the third consecutive month of year-on-year gains.
  5. January–August Dynasty sales totaled 1,045,805 vehicles, down 13.15% year-on-year, narrowing from a 22.44% first-half deficit.

BYD's Dynasty lineup produced its 10 millionth vehicle ahead of the October 13 launch of the Da Han flagship sedan, BYD said Tuesday.

Lu Tian, general manager of BYD's Dynasty sales division, disclosed the cumulative milestone on Weibo, thanking customers and staff for reaching the threshold. The Da Han — positioned above the existing Han — becomes the lineup's new top sedan and joins the previously launched Da Tang SUV in carrying the Chinese automaker deeper into China's premium market.

The Da Han launch is Dynasty's second flagship debut in 17 weeks, underscoring a product cadence built to lift average selling price across the division.

What has BYD priced for the Da Han?

BYD opened pre-sales at the Chengdu Auto Show on August 21 with three all-electric variants. Pricing spans 249,900 yuan ($37,070) for the entry rear-wheel-drive trim to 299,900 yuan for the all-wheel-drive version — a 50,000 yuan spread across the three-variant lineup. The five-seat sedan measures 5,256 mm long on a 3,130 mm wheelbase.

Standard equipment across all three includes DiSus-A dual-chamber air suspension, flash charging, rear-wheel steering and a LiDAR-based driver-assistance system.

What range do the variants claim?

The two rear-wheel-drive variants carry a CLTC range rating of 1,008 km. The all-wheel-drive variant is rated at 880 km. BYD has filed for regulatory approval of a Da Han plug-in hybrid, but the company has not yet opened pre-sales for that variant.

Where do Dynasty sales stand?

Dynasty sales rose 13.88% year-on-year in August to 170,842 vehicles, up 6.02% from July and a third consecutive month of year-on-year growth, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

The cumulative picture remains negative. From January through August, Dynasty delivered 1,045,805 vehicles, down 13.15% year-on-year, though the deficit narrowed from the 22.44% drop recorded in the first half.

BYD's group-wide new energy vehicle sales rose 17.84% year-on-year to 440,293 in August, with eight-month volume at 2,668,015 units, down 6.84%.

How does Da Han fit the premium push?

The Da Tang SUV — the lineup's first flagship above the existing Tang — launched on June 17 and reached 10,000 deliveries by July 23. The two flagships give the division two shots at converting BYD's mass-market brand equity into premium share, a segment historically dominated by joint-venture marques in China.

Lu Tian's post framed the 10-million-unit line as a customer-and-employee achievement. The round number offers a marketing marker as the division pivots product mix upward.
